Thank you, Mario. It's a little tricky, because these are mostly military options which I've already put into option #4, the Michael Bay option. Napalm is a little different, so I gave it a second option. I'll put in the flame thrower, because human trown flames are under represented here. Thank you for that. :D

Found a better image for the flame throwing. I guess Ripley would be very more popular, so I took her image from 'Aliens', where she stands with newt and throws flames on the alien breed.

Thank you, Mario. That is already in option #8: Flaming superpowers / Fire gods

I've made an exception. Since the Ghostrider looks like a cliché of a rocker's dream, I picked up the idea and used the Ghost Rider for an option.

I like this idea and I really like the title. FYC: Seemingly random images of fire in David Lynch's work, such as 'Wild at Heart.' "Twin Peaks," and 'Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me' https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100935/mediaviewer/rm3904999169/?ref_=ttmi_mi_31_2 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100935/mediaviewer/rm2004683520/?ref_=ttmi_mi_55_4

Thank you, Ruby. Sadly the images are not really good. But that get's me to an idea. Phentesized f.l.a.me.s. of hell-o. Just need an image for it. Maybe there is one in Mulholland drive. I'll search for an image like that. Thank you for the idea. Poor little bot!

Unfortunatly the dumb bot on that site always marks my posts "private", if I get to clear and write what I intend to say. So that happened to the last post I wanted to address to you and it got marked private. I often have to make intentionally typos and wrong spelling to trick out the dumb machine. I'll try to give you a mor correct phrase (still intentionally wrong): fanta sized fla-mes of hall (a=e)

What's that on that site? I even can't correct my postings now! That's not normal! I have to write it a second time to correct it.

Ugh, I know how you feel, Breu: Sprinkler sometimes marks my posts "private," too, and occasionally causes some other little problems. It can be very frustrating. I'm sorry that it is wonky with you, as well. I am now able to see the phrase, though, so thank you! : )

We face major problems with IT attacks in Germany. Today our news reported that who will not prepare for state-run IT attacks from other states will lose. ... Too shorten it in a few words, so to say. I saw that one of our major state-run TV broadcast has problems to provide the newest news in the mediatheque. That's special. I guess they face severe problems at the moment and I'd count them to the one we should not name, ~2000 kilometers away from Germany, direction: east. He was also not closer named in our broadcast.

Great! Thank you Dan! That's exact what I needed. I can't understand how I could miss that. Maybe it's because I scrolled throughout 30 movies with 800 images before I hit "Welding".

Hi Breu, I suggest three edits and one revision to the intro: The edits: change "part of human life-both a tool and a source" to "part of human life, both as a tool and as a source..." (changing the hyphen to a comma, adding a space after the comma, and adding the word "as" before "a tool" and "a source") The revision: Fire hasn't always been part of human life as a tool. Humans of course existed for a long time without being able to start it or control it so I would also change the word "always" to "long" or "almost always." "Fire has long been a part of human life, both as a tool and as a source of fascination." Finally, in the last option, I suggest one edit: change " - e.g." to "Divine flames, as in The Ten Commandments"

Thank you for pointing out, Ruby. That caused me to be more clear about my very (maybe too) philosophical view on that issue. Indeed, hominids were early roots of humankind, 6-7 million years before us. I've passed out the missing link. Then homo habilis came on stage, about 2,8 millions of years ago. From there we count the "spark" of humankind, deriving from east Afrika. Human cultures came up about 2 million years ago. About 1,5 to 1 million years ago, humankind learned to use fire for itself, but just on occassional lightning fire or wildfire. It's unclear when exact it was, and as I'm not an archeologist, so I sure can't tell exact. The oldest traces were found in Koobi Fora and Chesowanja in Kenia and Gesher Benot Ya’aqov in Israel. That was then the Homo Erectus. The earliest confirmed control of fire dates back to about 800,000 years ago. The usual use of fire (starting and controlling) in humankind started about 400.000 years ago. So I've re-stated it like this: Fire has been a part of human life, both as a tool and as a source of fascination for about 800.000 years. "Fire has been a part of human life, both as a tool and as a source of fascination for about 400.000 years."

Ok, now I've changed the text to a more historical aproved and correct version: "About 1.5 to 1 million years ago, humans learned to use fire, but only from occasional lightning strikes or wildfires. Later, around 800,000 years ago, they learned to control fire, and by about 400,000 years ago, they began to produce and use it regularly. In movies and stories, it appears as power, danger, or wonder. Which form of fire captivates you the most on screen? Please discuss here. Click here for slideshow." It's content is correct and the form should be ok now. What do you say, Ruby?

Thank you, Ruby. I guess I touched something very deeply inherent. Humankind and fire are two things like the white of the egg and the yolk. Without the use of fire ALL of our modern inventions wouldn't have made. The forming of metal with heat is essential for modern civilization. No invention of combustion motors without fire. No steam locomotives without fire. No sword, no gun, no ..., no ..., no ... without fire. It all derives from former developements. If you would take away fire in the evolution of humankind, we still would hang behind very, very far.

Re-arranged the order of the options to make it visually better. Added one option (#9) and changed the text in option #27 slightly to make it more versatile.
