LIVE POLL: Oscar-Razzie Face-Off: Most Impressive Award Rebound

Each year, the Razzies and the Oscars are held during the same weekend. This intentional scheduling quirk creates a unique rebound experience for some filmmakers. Those with nominations at both ceremonies have the potential to go from humiliation on Razzies Saturday to jubilation on Oscars Sunday.

Which of these previous dual Golden Raspberry and Oscar winners, who won a Razzie(s) on Saturday and won an Oscar(s) on Sunday of the same weekend, is the most impressive rebound?

Most recently in February 2019 ,Melissa McCarthy and Peter Farrelly potentially could have won both a Razzie and an Oscar during the same February 23-24 weekend in 2019. McCarthy was Golden Raspberry-nominated for Worst Actress in The Happytime Murders (2018) and Oscar-nominated for Best Actress in Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018). Farrelly was Golden Raspberry-nominated for the Redeemer Award for Green Book (2018) and Oscar-nominated for Best Motion Picture and Best Original Screenplay for Green Book (2018).

FYI 2019 UPDATE
Farrelly LOST the Golden Raspberry for the Redeemer Award for Green Book (2018) and WON the Oscars for Best Motion Picture and Best Original Screenplay for Green Book (2018).

McCarthy WON a Golden Raspberry for Worst Actress in Life of the Party but LOST for The Happytime Murders (2018) and LOST for Worst Screen Combo, specifically Any two actors or puppets (especially in those creepy sex scenes) for Happytime Murders (2018).  Also, McCarthy LOST the Oscar for Best Actress in Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018).

P.S., I cleaned up the introduction, too.

Typically, the Razzies and Oscars are held during the same weekend each year. The intentional scheduling of a Razzies Saturday and a Oscars Sunday creates a unique rebound experience for some filmmakers. Those with dual nominaions have the potential to go from humiliation to jubilation, all within the span of a little over a 24 hour period.

Which of these previous dual Golden Raspberry and Oscar winners, who won a Razzie(s) on Saturday and won an Oscar(s) on Sunday of the same weekend, is the most impressive rebound?

My vote: Alan Menken

The song "High Times, Hard Times" from 'Newsies' is at best awful and well deserving of a Razzie.

The score and best song ("A Whole New World") from Aladdin memorable and are well deserving of an Oscar.

He seems to have a good sense of humor about the award.

It would seem the more accolades one receives, the more of an honor (or at least less of an embarrassment) getting a Razzie is. Of course, when things are received makes a difference. Getting an Oscar the day after receiving a Razzie makes the Razzie a little more forgettable, while getting a Razzie the year after getting an Oscar makes the Razzie more memorable, ala the mighty having fallen.

Interestingly, Menken is one of only two people (the other being Liza Minnelli) to have REGOT status.

I reworked the introduction again, tightening it with a better flow.
