I'm not sure I understand this poll. The average American woman, for example, is, depending on the source, 5' 2.5" - 5'3", so any woman above this, at least in the States, couldn't be considered petite unless you're talking about weight but you specifically mention height. Even in clothing, "petite" sizes in the U.S. are for women under 5'4" and with relatively small frames (slender shoulders, etc.). I'm sure that the average height of adult females in Scandinavia and parts of Africa is taller than in the U.S. but most of the world is going to be shorter. When I think of professions in which height is usually an advantage, besides basketball, I think of runway modeling and one of the icons in that industry is Kate Moss, who's 5'6" or 5'7." I bet that a majority or near majority of actresses would fall within your parameters of 5'3" - 5'7." When I think of short actresses, I think Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz, Emilia Clark, Salma Hayek, Lucy Lui, Lady Gaga, and Jada Pinkett Smith, to name a few. They're all between 4'11" and 5'2." I also often think of Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Renee Zellweger because they're a few inches shorter than I am but IMDb lists them at 5'3," which in the U.S. is average. The other assertion that I doubt is that most people think there's is a correlation between height and attractiveness. I don't have any empirical evidence that supports my doubt but I can't imagine that there's empirical evidence that supports your claim. This is just anecdotal but I certainly can't think of anyone I know who thinks that. For example, Tom Cruise is one of those actors who seemed to be considered one of the biggest heartthrobs and he's two inches shorter than the average American male. I hope that doesn't sound discouraging because I don't feel that way. In both this and your other recent poll, you seemed to want constructive criticism, which is how I hope that this comes across. I think with just a couple small tweaks, this may have a better shot at being chosen to go live. I'm no longer a poll admin so I don't want to speak for them but I've been doing this for a long time so I have developed a fairly good sense of what goes live. Again, I don't want to speak for the current poll admins, but I think you may be close here and I hope that''s encouraging. : ) (When I get a bit of free time, I'll comment of your other recent poll suggestion. Sorry that it's later than I was hoping.)
