I'd suggest removing the sentence altogether. 

I also didn't mean that you should replace inches with centimeters, it's OK to include both, so everyone understands without having to Google.

I think my poll suggestion is a little different from the GabrielFox's.
It's just about the actresses and those who are shorter than 5' 3" (160 cm), not 5' (152 cm).
Also, this poll suggestion is not limited to American actresses.
