Intro: Some scifi movies were fascinating at the time of their release and so were their heroes. Some decades passed and the fascination of these movies faded, because reality outdated the scenarios in them. But we still love the characters, because they gained the status as a role model of an examplary hero to the audiences in their time. No matter how we look at those movies today, the actors gave their best to make the movies most interesting. Which of these actors did or do you like most as a science fiction hero in these roles? You can also click for the slideshow here. You can pick the hero without reading, the texts are just for remembering more easy. Please discuss here. Suggestions: At least two decades old movies. Better three or four. The older, the better. Like in the descriptions. Please suggest with image and short synopsis like in the options. @Breumaster, For your consideration: Coma https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077355/ Geneviève Bujold played Dr. Susan Wheeler in the 1978 film Coma, is a bright and persistent surgical resident who uncovers a sinister conspiracy involving her hospital's sudden influx of inexplicable comas. Wow! Thank you! These are excellent picks! I really like them. I modified the options a little, because I mentioned all movies at the end, so I wanted to do it the same at the last options. Hmm. What do you think - Is it better like I did, or would it better to set the movies at the top of the options? (then all) I could also do like: Coma (1978): Geneviève Bujold played Dr. Susan Wheeler, a bright and ... and then cut the movie name at the end. But I want to mention the movie in the option, to give people a title to remember. And even though it's not really clickable like Jessica said, I still want to link it that way, because that kind of linking sets the title like it is named in the country of the user. What do you think, guys? (Again thank you for the great picks! ;D)

P.S.: Coma isn't tagged as scifi. What to do? Can we tag it as scifi, somehow? I think it is, because of the storing system ... how they store the bodies in the institute.

The bad thing is: Geneviève Bujold is the only female hero. I thought about Ripley, but the movie isn't that outdated, maybe the board computer, ok. I will put her on the list, but it's still debateable, if it is really outdated.

I finally found some women for the list. Half of them are not the best picks, but still memorable. I have to admit that I heard of them first time. But on the other hand I didn't want to make the list just male. It's a pitty that women were not earlier accepted as heroines. Times change. In 30 years it won't be difficult to make such an idea weighted with women and man equally.
