Didn't they beam the tribbles to an nearby Klingon ship at the end? Funny idea!

Capt. Kirk: Mister Scott. Where - are - the tribbles?

Scott: I gave 'em to the Klingons, sir.
Scott: I transported the whole kit 'n' caboodle
into their engine room, where they'll be no tribble at all.

Hm, tough to pick just one. I'd vote for The Inner Light, but probably because I watched The Next Generation as a child, and that one had the biggest impact on me and became one of my ultimate favorite Star Trek episodes (even though my ultimate favorite would actually be Yesterday's Enterprise, and my second ultimate favorite would be The Inner Light).

@Vandurath ,

Both "The City on the Edge of Forever" and "The Inner Light" are emotional  episodes.

I'd vote for City on the Edge of Forever, but it is not my favorite episode of the original series.  That would probably be Amok Time.  This does have my favorite episode of the animated original series.  Just reading this poll is a blast from the past.

If I had to pick an episode for Next Generation that was my favorite, it would probably be the one with the return of Spock.  I loved the scene where Spock tells Picard that he never did mind meld with this father (Sarek), but Picard had done that mind meld in the past.  Spock then mind melds with Picard to try and have that connection with his own father.  Very touching and it says a lot about Spock's desire for that relationship.

Thanks. Compiling this poll brought back fond memories.

I distinctly remember seeing "The Man Trap" on September 8, 1966 on a black and white television. "Star Trek" was the major reason why my father bought a color television set.

Unfortunately, Thursday night was the night we had our Boy Scout meeting. If the meeting went long, we would miss part or all of an episode.

I knew all but three of these weird Star Trek facts:
Origin of costumes

Origin of phasers

That Tribbles caused electrostatic shock.

I've only seen the original series, so The City at the Edge of Tomorrow gets a default vote.

I sometimes catched the Next Generation as a kid, but I can't recall a particular episode.

I accidentally voted when I wanted to check the results. Since I haven't seen any of these episodes, I picked the one that sounds the most interesting.

I've accidentally voted a few time when I was I was reviewing a newly created poll with the updated poll software.
