@Mariojacobs, Great catch. Both in the book and in the 1959 film the explorers start their journey by entering a dormant volcano. The explorers' journey in Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth" begins in Hamburg, Germany. The main characters, Professor Otto Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel, are at their home when the professor acquires an old Icelandic manuscript. Inside the manuscript, they find a coded note written in runic script by a 16th-century Icelandic alchemist, Arne Saknussemm. After deciphering the message, they discover it contains instructions for a passageway to the Earth's center through the crater of a dormant volcano in Iceland.

@joses90, Ironically, TCM (Turner Classic Movies) showed 'Under the Volcano' (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088322/) tonight. Sadly, this film probably doesn't meet the criteria for your poll suggestion.
