Live Poll: Which is the most Interesting Movie at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival?

Intro: The 82nd Venice International Film Festival started on August 27, 2025 in Venice, Italia. It's a very big Film Festival, like Cannes Film Festival in France or the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany. The main event is about the best movies. The best movie gets awarded with a prize, the Golden Lion, a statuette like the Oscar. Regardless of the real results of the festival, which of these movies would you most want to watch? Please tell us here. Suggestion: You can check at the English Wikipedia by using the search term: 82nd Venice International Film Festival (considering the entries of IMDb matching with date, story, actors and director) List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls4106843262/ Poll: https://www.imdb.com/de/poll/BHPxeyZJH59VYA9pJPsWbA/

Since it's not safe for the poll to be closed after a month and regarding the release of the movies, it's not good to realease the poll too fast. If you fixed the closing of the polls within one month, it's ok to release it early.

Sometimes when people have done polls like this they have asked about which film we would most like to see. It could be a while before we can see some of these films.

Very good point! I didn't think about that, you're totally right. I'll change the question.

"Your Golden Lion" in the title also implies that we should have an opinion on which film should win.

Yes, because I wanted to imply which movie the users would pick as most interesting. With the old question the title was fitting more. Now the question changed, so we can also change the title. Regarding the question, I would call it: "Which is the most Interesting Movie at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival?"

Hi Breu, it's good to see a poll about the Venice Film Festival. I agree with Peter, though, that it's preferable to ask people which film they'd most like to see since these movies aren't yet available for most people to see. Also, there are a few errors: I'm not sure, though, if they were caused by inaccurate information or the difficulties of writing in a second language -- although I should take this opportunity to say that most of the intro is written really well and as I've said before, your English language writing skills have improved so much since you first started making polls: I'm in awe of how good they are. I could never write more than one or two good sentences in any language besides my first language of English. Even when I lived in China, I struggled to speak the language but I never would have been able to write a thing. -- The Palm D'or is a prize but the intro, as it's currently written, actually states that it's the film festival itself. The same error is made about the Golden Bear. -- The Oscars isn't a film festival; it's only an awards ceremony. I made a few edits below but if I'm saying something different than what you want to say, disregard it, of course -- if you want to let me know what you're intending to say, I don't mind suggesting other edits. I can't tell you how I still appreciate your help. You and Peter are sooo right. ;) Since the movies are in big parts not released, and won't be for further months, I re-arranged the question to: "Regardless of the real results of the festival, which of these movies do you most want to watch?" (I could also ask "... would you most like to watch?" I'm not sure which one is better. For me it's kind of same. (P.S.: I've chosen "...would you most like to watch?" finally) Thank you for safing me about mixing the prizes with the festival names. It's very common in Germany to use the names of the prizes colloquially for the festivals themselves. That's where we Germans - most of us - are a little lazy. It derives from our desire for efficiency. That's also why we create so much composite wording. Words that have 30 letters are not so unusual in Germany. We love to put whole contexts in one word. E.g. "Veschlimmbessern". Means: "To fix something and making it worse with it." Or "Grundschullehrer". Means: "elementary school teacher". I understand your difficults with Chinese language. I tried to learn it from a taiwanese woman in adult evening class, but I didn't cope with it. The mere main problem is the pronounciation. I guess as a German I even have it easier, because we have "Umlaute" ("ü", "ä", "ö") in our language and thereby are more trained in hearing them. That's also why we can better pronouce words from Dansk and Sweden. But in Germany we have a big struggle with the English "th". We often say it as "s" or "t". In China they have 5 different way to pronounce the same letter, producing 5 completely different words. That must be horror for Americans. I didn't come over the point to say "hello." politely. "You good?" "Ni Hao?" "You good?" (polite for older people and strangers): "Nin Hao?". Better "Nin Hao ma?" Well ... that was my whole Chinese language skill that lastet over the years. ;)

Thank you for explaining some things about the German language: that's fascinating. I love "Veschlimmbessern". Means: "To fix something and making it worse with it." I'm going to have to look up how to pronounce that word and practice it because I love the meaning and I love that it's all in that one word, albeit a long word, lol. And yes, my experience with Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese) was pretty horrific. Like you said, the fact that it's a tonal language makes it very difficult for non native speakers who often have never made a lot of those sounds ever before. For example, the vocal mechanisms of native English speakers just have no experience with making some of those tones, plus the difference between tones can be very subtle so it can be hard to hear. And that's just the speaking part: the writing of the language -- wow. You know some Chinese so you probably know that there's no alphabet. A different character/image for every single syllable and the different tones, as well, makes learning to write the language nearly impossible past childhood. And about the same amount of it has lasted with me as it has with you. I can't believe I lived there for almost two years and about all I can say is hello, how are you?, thank you, bottle, can, and cat. Lol. : )

Look at this please (youtube): 15 GENIUS German words that are MISSING in English! | Feli from Germany Feli explains it pretty good. The pronounciation is: „fer-shlim-bess-ern“. You speak each syllable separated - one after the other - and when you got it, get faster and connect the syllables. The emphasis lies on "shlim".

"verschlimmbessern" starts at 10:00 minutes. the past is "verschlimmbessert". "Er hat es verschlimmbessert." - "He disimproved" it.

Breu, we tried to push this poll but it produced an error. It may be due to the text in Japanese, Chinese or Arab alphabet in options 12, 18 or 20.

I've put away the "exotic" languages. Please try again. I wouldn't suppose failing on normaal numbers. Btw. the digits 0,1,2, ... 9 derive from arabic language.

Considering the question, it might help to include the plot summary for each movie.
