LIVE POLL: Which John Candy Movie Character Is Most Iconic?

In remembrance of the comedy legend, which of these selected John Candy movie characters is his most memorable? On October 31, 2025, we mark the 75th anniversary of the birth of John Candy, who was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada on October 31, 1950. In honor of this milestone, please support the grassroots movement to adopt "The Candys" as the official nickname for the Canadian Screen Awards, which are intended to recognize Canadian accomplishments in film, television, and digital media. The nickname will give the award some personality, add some fun to the awards and put it on par with the other major awards from other countries that already have an endearing nickname. The nickname will serve as a tribute to the late actor, highlight the Canadian film and television industry itself, and demonstrate some national pride at the same time due to the nickname's multiple interpretations. Show your support by posting your iconic John Candy character choice and "I support adopting 'The Candys' as the official nickname for the Canadian Screen Awards" to the following hashtags: #Candys, #JohnCandyDay, and #CanadianScreenAwards on the actor's 75th birthday. Please correct remberance to remembrance. "Show your support by texting your iconic John Candy character choice" Perhaps "posting" is a better word choice than texting.

It's more a persona, rather than a character. I think it is an extraneous fact, that makes the whole conversation more complicated than it needs to be. (According to Rolling Stone) "Long before John Candy became a household name outside of Canada, the comedian would occasionally adopt a persona that his friends and colleagues dubbed 'Johnny Toronto'." "Johnny Toronto was a brash and confident alter ego created by John Candy, contrasting with his typically shy and genial personality. This character embodied a bold, larger-than-life persona that allowed Candy to showcase a different side of himself, often used to mask his insecurities."

Yippee, it's a Live Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/Peoc1vgto_b3BMTJpQGq2A/ Congratulations, Urb! (Please change the thread setting to "Praise" and change "Suggestion" to "Live Poll." Thanks!) (Oh, if you're able to now. I remember you said you couldn't. Sprinkler, ugh.)
