Thank you to Jessica for posting these thoughts and ideas here.
I was one of the original poll writers back in the old, old, old days (when there was only one poll per day, it appeared on the front page, and all polls got at least 10,000 votes). My very first published poll from that time was about Peter O'Toole.
I was then around when they got rid of the poll completely and we created our own website to continue doing polls.
Then, they added the poll back and were doing about three or four polls per day. During these times, I was one of the first writers to have over 100 polls posted and one of the first with over 100,000 votes.
Then, they took this forum off IMDb completely and changed the ways that polls were created. I left about this time.
During that time, I was always the guy who was pushing old movies and old tv shows (the classics of both).
I am an old man and have suffered two major strokes and some smaller ones since then and am now an invalid. I still vote on the polls every day, but no longer create polls. I can read for about ten minutes and then develop a splitting headache. I also am somewhat handicapped in my hands and cannot type well or for a long time.
Any idea that I may give out is free to the first person who can create the poll. I am also a technophobe and always have been and would have trouble trying to create polls.

ANOTHER IDEA THAT IS FREE FOR ANYONE TO MAKE THE POLL AND I DO NOT WANT OR NEED ANY CREDIT.
In the early 1970's, CBS changed network executives and programming directors. The new people in charge cancelled several highly rated series that did not appeal to their desired demographic, since called "the Rural Purge." This prompted Green Acres actor Pat Buttram ("Mr. Haney" on Green Acres) to make the observation: "It was the year CBS cancelled everything with a tree—including Lassie."
Which of these cancelled series "with a tree" was your favorite?
Please note that some of these series became independently syndicated and ran for many more years.

How many years has it been since we've had a Stephen Frears poll? I know it was poll #100 of the modern era, but he has directed other films since then that are not on that poll.

Please note that this is a poll idea that is free to use for anyone willing to take the time and make the poll. I don't need any credit. I am just an old man with limited computer skills with some time on his hands due to poor health.
Which Saturday morning cartoon that was later made into a live action motion picture was your favorite? Titles of the original animated shows are listed.
Please not that even though such cartoons as Batman and Superman existed before the feature films did, they started out as comic books and then were movie serials before ever becoming cartoons. They are not listed. The Brady Bunch was a live action sitcom before becoming a cartoon series and then becoming a film; it is not listed. There are multiple films based on some of these titles, but the original cartoon is only listed once.
