Intro: In the current Filmbusiness there are some character actors that are simply brilliant. They have a few things in common. They support the story in a brilliant way by their authentic acting. They are always avoiding to to force themselves to much in the foreground and give the main characters the necessary support to shine. and they have the capability to appear different by their acting in each role the do. These are the acting gems in second row. The IMDb poll board picked their favorite "acting gems". Which of these character actors is your favorite? Please tell us here. Still can't link the list-link. Also can't set bold characters and underlining. :(

Breumaster, For your consideration: Paxton Whitehead Francis Edward Paxton Whitehead https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0925717/bio/ Paxton Whitehead, born in England in 1937, had a prolific acting career spanning stage and screen. He began with the Royal Shakespeare Company and made his Broadway debut in 1962. Notably, he directed the Shaw Festival, significantly elevating its status. Whitehead's Broadway roles included "Camelot," earning him a Tony nomination. He also appeared in numerous television shows, such as "Friends" and "Frasier." His career included much regional theater work, and he was known for his comedic timing. He passed away in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of versatile performances. or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paxton_Whitehead Francis Edward Paxton Whitehead (17 October 1937 – 16 June 2023) was an English actor and theatre director. He was nominated for a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his performance as Pellinore in the 1980 revival of Camelot. Whitehead had many Broadway roles. He was also known for his film roles and for his many guest appearances on several U.S. television shows: he portrayed Bernard Thatch on The West Wing, and in the 1990s often appeared in recurring and guest roles on major sitcoms, such as Frasier, Caroline in the City, Ellen, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Drew Carey Show, Mad About You, and Friends. Please note: I am a big fan of Paxton Whitehead and wrote his IMDb biography and most of his Wikipedia biography. The above is a summary of his biography. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to meet him before he died in 2023.

Sorry, Dan. I just noticed that otter had a similar poll, in which he already presented Paxton Whitehead. To eventually make it a second part, I'd have to delete Whitehead. Sorry, I didn't have that one on my radar recently.

FYI, otter did a similar poll, but I suppose there could be a Part 2. Dan's pick was already in otter's poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/Cmb_gJgvwKo/

Thank you for pointing out, Jessica. I didn't have that one on the radar anymore. I'm not sure, if otter is ok with me using his poll idea. And the other question is: When yes, would I have to call it part II, or just keep my title. I could write a line in the intro that this is based on the idea of otter.

I wanted to ask otter, but got just that message: This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members. Seems like the forum is still broken, somehow. :(

"And the other question is: When yes, would I have to call it part II, or just keep my title. I could write a line in the intro that this is based on the idea of otter." I think either way is fine. You could try asking him in another thread. He posted six days ago in Pencho's thread: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdb-poll/live-poll-faceoff-palme-dor-and-oscar-winners/67d1e9df6202ce33d4e50e52 "This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members. Seems like the forum is still broken, somehow." That seems to be an old problem, I've seen it before. I don't know why it happens to some threads, but it's not because of the recent outage.

I Think Harner is ok, but I can't add him. My browser refuses the input. Completely updated Firefox, Win11, Intel plattform.

Breumaster, I was able to add Jason Butler Harner to one of my people lists. (I removed him from the list shortly after, since he didn't belong on that list.) I'm using the latest version of Firefox [137.0.1 (64-bit)], Windows 10 and on an Intel laptop. I'm swamped right now. When I get a chance, I will try to help you diagnose the problem.
