Poll Suggestion: Actors Shorter Than Their Fathers (Much Shorter)

While men tend to inherit the height of their father, sometimes they're much taller, sometimes slightly shorter (former President Bush was two inches shorter than his father)... it is still very uncommon (although not that rare) to end up bing towered by Daddy.

This is a list of actors who are at least 4 inches (10 cm) shorter than their fathers, we know it's all a matter of genetics but still, which case do you find the most surprising?

Don't underestimate the mother's genes, I suggested this poll because I'm four inches shorter than my father (we're three brothers, and the others are also shorter by three and two inches) and I always thought I was an exception, these actors kind of relieved me from serious hang-ups.

I am taller than either of my parents, but the taller genes are definitely on my mother's side.

That's the best scenario for a guy, if he has a tall father and a short mother, there's a possibility that he could be shorter than his father, but having a tall mother is almost a tall-height  guarantee for a boy.

I'll try to find data about Rance Howard, but it looks like a valid suggestion. I can't add Michael and Corin Redgrave because there's only 1 inch and half between them and there are plenty of actors who're just slightly shorter than their fathers.

Also from IMDb: Son Sean Astin is not his biological child. He is ex-wife Patty Duke's son with her ex-husband Michael Tell.  
But I was astonished for Robert Downey Jr. Wow! And there's absolutely no doubt possible about his fatherhood, his son is a carbon copy with only darker hair.

 It is interesting, but to be, it seems a bit insulting to compare an actor his height with his dad. 

Anyway, my perception of this poll has probably something to do with the fact that I'm 8 cm shorter than my father.

On another subject, I also believe that Donald is boosting his height, maybe he is aging, but he doesn't look 1.93m tall and certainly not 19 cm taller than Kiefer.

When you're more than 6'2 at your prime you know you'll always be tall no matter how much you shrink when you get older... I'm comparing these actors' heights at their prime... and the fact that I'm 10cm shorter than my father inspired me that poll... height has always been a serious issue for me and I made many polls about the subject... at the age of 18 I thought it was abnormal to be shorter than your Dad... friends and cousins were tall even though their fathers were average at best... I can tell you that I felt some relief when I discovered I wasnt the only one... when there were similar cases even among celebrities.

Wow, I never realized that Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, and John Wayne were so tall. I guess the most surprising height difference is Josh and James Brolin: I would have thought Josh to be taller than he is and taller than his Dad, who I would not have guessed to be so tall. 'Interesting idea, ElM, and fun poll.  

May I suggest two very small edits to the intro? (in bold below, two more examples of my punctuation nerdiness, lol)

Actually the poll centers on celebrities with rather normal heights... it would defeat the purpose of this poll to have little people because they are expected to be shorter than their parents since dwarfism is generally due to genetic disorder.
