Poll Suggestion: Dreaming of U.S.A.: The World’s Gaze in Past Decades
Intro: For decades, The United States of America have been both a promise and a paradox. From postwar Europe to the age of Hollywood, it symbolized freedom, fame, and a fresh start. Films and music shaped that image - from the electrifying “America” in Westsidestory (1961) to the dreams of Grease (1978), Rocky (1976), and Forrest Gump (1994). To many, the U.S. was the land where ambition could rewrite destiny. Yet beneath the glamour were questions of identity, struggle, and reality versus dream. As one of history’s greatest immigration destinations, America drew millions chasing opportunity and reinvention. Why would you have followed the dream across the Atlantic? (U.S. residents, please also feel free to vote: How would you choose if you would have lived outside the U.S. for the past decades?) Please discuss here. Suggestions: Tell us what would be the best reason to move there. If you wouldn't want to go there today, what would have been your intentions earlier? List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls4155401834/ Poll: TBD
