I don't think I understand what you mean, but I'd also vote for Keanu Reeves for making John Wick 2,3,4,5,6 etc etc

@mariojacobs

Matrix 2+ were idiot cash grabs that ruined the mythos of the first excellent film.

@NYVKE The problem is... (at least I suspect), Keanu Reeves probably signed a pretty strict contract that forced him into making 2 and 3 as they always was planned as a trilogy. If there was any selling out? It was for Matrix 4 where there was likely a new contract created for that returned role. He couldn't be blamed for the failure of the first two sequels as he would have been locked in and difficult to break out of them.

@NYVKE I haven't seen the Matrix sequels but I assume you're right.

The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, both forming really one movie, were alright and worked great for world building, i.e. we get to see Zion and the machine city, and are introduced the supreme oversight of the Matrix along with other factions like the Merovingian and the Trainman. Even though Reloaded and Revolutions weren't nearly as great as the original, and even felt rushed, not too much about them ruined the mythos of the original, as it seems clear that everything in them was intended from before the production of the original wrapped up. (Spoilers forthcoming.) I mean, it shouldn't really come as too much of a heartbreaking shock that the Oracle is part of the System of Control, that what the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar believed about her was always bullshit extending far back into time to a time preceding their perception of it.

I also don't understand how the first two sequels to John Wick should be treated as shameless cash grabs, but if more of these are planned, then maybe it is getting out of hand. I really like world building. For instance, underwhelming as it may seem, Blade Runner 2049 is somewhat great.

I also agree to Mario's comment about John Wick. Reeves begann to cashcow the franchise since part 3. Now it's a dog-ballbite-franchise. Really? It inflates. There is no shocking element anymore.Especially the last part was only boring (except the paris fightings in the old, rotten building and the ending) and replaceable. There are really better movies on the market. The worst b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. on it is, that there are hundrets and hundrets of fights, kills, car accidents in one city in one night and not only one police sirene. Alone that fact makes it unbelieveable t.r.a.s.h.. :(

@TrusTinsanity

I think you need to clarify what you mean by "SOLD OUT"

I interpreted in one way, as outlined above, but perhaps your intended meaning was different???

Basically they stopped caring about making good films and just wanted cash. That's what I meant.

Nicholas cage a few years ago. He played in each d.u.m.b. r.u.b.b.i.s.h. to gather a little money that was really sad, because he could have done really better. He partly mutated to a c-movie star. Press said he has money problems. At the moment he does better.

Bruce Willis is on the same way now because of his illness. I understand, he grabs the last money he can get. But the movies turn worse and worse.

Liam Neeson once was a first class actor. Now he does always the same agent-x-b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. I do like his older roles in movies like Rob Roy, Kinsey, in Nell, Batman Beginns, Love Actually, Gangs of New York, K19, Michael Collins, Suspect, Mission and not at least Schindlers List. He is such a good actor and now only the always same type of agent. I can't see that anymore.

Jason Statham is always the similar type of military guy / revenger / salvator. All-in-all one can say his movies are interchangeable somehow. He once was cool in his older movies like Crank, but since he does always the same, I just skip. Only the Movie MEG in last times was a little different.

The worst is the more and more inflating r.u..b.i.s.h. of the Fast-and-Furious franchise. At the moment it grows more and more absurd, just to squeeze the last pence, nickles and dimes of these productions, while the stories and CGIs are getting more and more trashy. So Vin Diesel is one of my first place candidate. The first part was very good. Each further got worse, but were still entertaining until part 4. Meanwhile I let them pass by while writing on the internet, because thinking about the logic and physics would annoy me. Since part 4 cash-cow only! Now there are unbelieveable cheesy, dumb, absurd and partly boring 7 of 10 parts of it. Nogo!

I guess I'd pick Vin Diesel.

I think you should add a little comment to all the options, like you did in the case of Keanu Reeves. I think it would make it more comprehensible to the users who vote. Because they can remember on the roles and think of it. Without commentary they only see a all-in-all good or at least sympathetic actor and won't link it to the intention, the poll board members wanted to state. In case of Vin Diesel, you could short it to the necessary points of my statement without words like r.u.b.b.i.s.h., just to make it comprehensible, why I picked Vin Diesel. I think it's good, you picked also Marios comment for the Reeves-option, because it shows up the discussion a little. Just shouldn't grow too long in text. I like the idea, why not put it to the top?

Yet now that I think about it, Harrison Ford returning for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies of the more recent decades kind of definitely rubbed me the wrong way, especially in the latter case for which I lay the blame at George Lucas's feet, but even so, there the script more so than the basic plot of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was unsavory. I really can't stand the scene with the abuse of the snake played for laughs. That one scene is the worst in the whole series of movies.

What about a list link? I'd appreciate to see what's already on the list.
