Poll Suggestion: IMDb Poll Board's Most Disliked TV Series

It does indeed seem strange! But there's a catch. The Rings of Power adapted J.R.R. Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion, where the entire history of Middle-earth is told, The First, Second and Third Ages until the events of LotR and The Hobbit. But The Rings of Power producers and Amazon didn't get the rights to the entire Second Age, which it adapts, but only the part that is told in The Lord of the Rings movies (which is still a lot). And, they didn't follow that part of the book at all, and needed to invent new events, new characters and alter something else. The show is approximately 20% accurate to Second age events from The Silmarillion. That's why I hate it. Those events that they describe are all tucked into a few years, whereas, in the book, those events are separated by thousands of years!!! The plot and the new events they invented is utterly terrible. 

For example, in the first episode, if you remember, Gil Galad lets Galadriel and her companions to go to Valinor because of their hunt for Sauron (none of this actually happens in the book). Firstly, Gil Galad has absolutely no authority over Valinor and can't send someone there just like that. The hunt for Sauron doesn't happen either. And then, when they get to Valinor through a portal (which does not exist in the book either, the Earth is still flat in the Second age), and in the last possible millisecond she jumps out of the boat with her brother's (his name is Finrod) dagger. Finrod does exist and he is a very important character in the First Age, but ultimately dies from a wolf sent by Sauron (completely different than in the series). He also doesn't have a dagger in the book. And she goes on an olimpic swim through an ocean (which is as big as the Atlantic) and suddenly bumps on a piece of floating garbage (a wooden raft). Literally NONE of this happened in the book.

Interesting indeed, I see it in the notifications but not on the thread... I really don't know why do they mark some posts private when they're not a spam (which that feature is supposed to be, a spam filter, but none of the spam comments on posts are privated)... But luckily, I can see it on my Email, so count your shows as added!

@Vandurath​   Thank you.  If I review a television show or movie and comment negatively due to those two reasons I gave, the review is always rejected.  I am so glad that this website is using film and television as a method of promoting their own moral agenda!!!!!  (the last sentence is pure sarcasm, by the way)
