I remember Mick O'Brien very differently. He's troubled but he's no villain. He's the protagonist and one full of regret for the harm that he's caused. Since it's been a while since I've seen 'Bad Boys,' I did some reading and found this:

Unlike O'Brien, Samuel J. Bicke is not painted sympathetically but is he a villain exactly? I'm not sure. As I remember it, it's pretty complicated. I'm not at all certain that he's not a villain but I'm wondering. It certainly makes me want to watch it again and this time do so when I'm not so tired, lol. Is your recollection more clear?
Hi Paok, I watched 'Bad Boys' again and I really don't think Mick O'Brien is portrayed as villainous. Have you seen it recently? Or how well do you remember it? What are your thoughts on this?
By the way, it was interesting to see him so young and to see that, even though his acting chops weren't as extraordinarily fine tuned as they became, his instincts were already spot-on. He was already Sean Penn; wow.
Truth be told I haven't seen the movie, I just read on the Internet that he is not the best guy in the movie. Do you know if there is any villainous character of his that I didn't include?
