Poll Suggestion: The Best Band Cameos in Movies

The best band cameos in movies. Here’s an incomplete list of band cameos in movies — which one do you think was the most fitting or the funniest? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls4107125032/?ref_=uspf_t_1

Please remove the written list of the bands in the text of the list. It's redundant when you have the actual options below it.

Welcome, egoruka. :D As a poll writer for 8 years, may I give you a little advice? You should add the title of your list here in that threat like: Poll Suggestion: The Best Band Cameos in Movies (without the period at the end, beware of capitalization, we use the AP - American Press - format.) You can a find a tool here: https://capitalizemytitle.com/style/AP/ You can copy your title in there, make sure title case and AP is seleced, so the title gets fit automatically to the AP format. You can copy again and paste it in the title of your list and in here, ... Poll Suggestion: The Best Band Cameos in Movies ("Poll Suggestion": only here, not in the list.) Till then ... :D

P.S.: The problem with writing only "Poll Suggestion" in the title here is, that we have a few thousand ideas around. When they all start with only "Poll Suggestion", we would'nt know which is which. ;) So please also make sure to best always pick a unique title. Greets. :)

Just for your consideration: I would skip the word "incomplete" in the list. It may read odd for some voters.

In general it's always good to confront one self as a voter when making a poll. I always try to imagine what the poll would look like to other users, keeping them in mind. From older discussion in here I still know that people's minds can be very different. One aspect is too keep it free from swearwords. Insults can be a part of a poll - we had them in past - but then with certain rules about! It has to be clear that we don't want to insult anyone, but insults can be a weightily important subject of e.g. movies or TV series. And it's to keep in mind that also underaged might be around on IMDb and also here in the forum. So if anyone is kidding around, don't be angry. I can be silly, too. Even though I'm grown up. ;)

Hi, This is a good idea for a poll. As Breumaster suggested, please capitalize the title in your list: The Best Band Cameos in Movies For your consideration: Alice Cooper's band in Wayne's World Aerosmith in Wayne's World 2

I just saw another point: Every (!) poll is limited to maximum 35 options. Your list contains 40 options. In that case it ca't be released, without skipping 5 options. But you can also do two lists and later do a second part of your idea. If it stays with 40 options and no more come in, it would be better to make two 20 option lists or you can also make a 35 option list and wait for further suggestions for a second part. That's in your consideration what's best.

It also is good to pick the most significant 1,2,3,... words to search in the forum if your idea already exists. If there already exists an idea with the same content and close title, it might be that the work you did is not to purpose and another idea will be picked instead. Sometimes you can avoid that with asking another question, pick newer movies which are not appeared in the predecessor's poll. Then it's like a second part. Would be polite if you ask the first writer, if he/she is ok with. But some writers are not active anymore. Some poll board members will know. Your chances to get a poll released rise when you take part in other suggestions. That's what community is about. ;D

It really takes some effort for your poll to get picked.

My first was the most effort, due to my former mountain high lack of English vocabulary, grammar and other things coming off me. But I had good help at the forum, so I'm trained in the circumstances of poll writing now. Only I still do many typos and being not really sure of the use of English language, so I often fail in dictums. English seems to be your mother tongue, is it? At least your English is better than mine when I arrived here. So you will do more easy, I guess.

No, English is not my native language. But it's surprising to me that creating a poll isn't as simple as creating a movie list. Aren’t those two similar processes? I understand that making a poll is a bit more complex, but still.

Essentially it is as easy as you thought. You just have to know a few things. Your list now is in a state it would be able to be released. Maybe the admins or other users can have some points on it. Then they will tell it here. Jessica is one of the admins. Dan_Dassow wrote down some rules for polls you can read in that FAQ: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdb-poll/faq-so-you-want-to-make-an-imdb-poll-heres-how/5f4a79a68815453dba8499e9

Basically it's a matter of working together, creating, being positive and socially connected in our little community. The users and also the admins come from around the world. We are connected by our hobby. Maybe it's the clearest view on it to see it as a hobby, exercised with the fellows here. You're free in having an idea. As long as it isn't too complicated and when it's really unique, it has best chances to become a poll. It's also a matter of connection to the voters. What would they best like to vote? How can I create my poll in a way I get their attention to vote?
