PS: Favorite Emmy Nominees Who Defy Time (Suggestions)
Which select Daytime Emmy or Primetime Emmy nominated individual* that defies time is your favorite older nominee? * Emmy-nominated after their 85th birthday
On July 8, 2026, famed naturalist and filmmaker David Attenborough broke the record to become the oldest nominee in Emmy history at 100 years, 2 months, and 0 days of age at the time of his nomination. David set the record by scoring not one but two Primetime nominations for Outstanding Narrator. He was nominated for his work narrating the Netflix documentary film, 'A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough' and the National Geographic film, 'Ocean with David Attenborough'. He previously won the same Primetime Emmy narrator category three times before, with his most recent win coming in 2020. In 2025, at 99 year old David was Primetime Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Narrator for the BBC documentary series, "Asia" and Daytime Emmy-nominated (won) for Outstanding Personality - Non-Daily for the Netflix documentary film, 'Secret Lives of Orangutans'. David hit his stride in his nineties, scoring eleven total Emmy nominations, including three award seasons in which he was twice Emmy-nominated. Since becoming a centenarian, Attenborough's breakneck Emmy nomination pace seems to mirror the one he set in nineties and would make a young man jealous.
