How about 'Children of the olymp' ('Les enfants du paradis') or 'Animal Farm'? Other high rated titles: 'Brief Encounter' 'Der Stumme Gast' 'Rosalinda' 'Scarlet Street' 'Leave Her to Heaven' 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' 'Detour' 'Tsogt Taij' 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn' 'China's Little Devils' 'Roma città aperta' 'The Lost Weekend' There are a lot, isn't it?

'Animal Farm' was also remade in 1954, 9 years later. Maybe you saw that?: https://www.imdb.com/de/title/tt0047834/ (I guess the other wouldn't be very much different. The story both times is from George Orwell. A very good movie, reflecting humans behavior on animals to show up characters you can also find in social life.)

1949 Una familia de tantas - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040341/reference/ It is unlikely to get any votes besides mine, so another option could be White Heat.

I added Una familia de tantas, since you prefer that one. Besides, your pick for the previous poll also only has one vote and I don't think it matters much. https://www.imdb.com/poll/NTX_hv5yDqM/results

Considering that women can give birth for 30-50 years, and/or adopt for about the same number of years, it's pretty difficult to tell a person's age from parental age. My best friend and I are very close in age but I have siblings who are older than her parents, lol.

@NYVKE and @Breumaster, General Washington was disappointed that I could not serve under his command in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. ;-) Abraham Lincoln invited me to "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., on April 14, 1865. I wasn't able to attend due to a prior commitment, so he invited Major Henry Rathbone and his fiancée, Miss Clara Harris instead.

Was it the reason, why Henry Rathbone killed his wife Clara later in 1883? He was declared insane for. I ask you, because you should know him better. Was there a conspiration to get rid of the witnesses? When I think of Kennedy! ... by the way did he invite you? How was he, when he wasn't a Berliner?

@Breumaster, I was really shocked by Major Henry Rathbone and Clara Harris. It's true he tragically killed her in 1883 and was declared insane. His actions were a heartbreaking consequence of the immense trauma he suffered at Ford's Theatre that night, not part of some wider conspiracy. Major Henry Rathbone’s friends do not believe the Lincoln assassination was connected to his later actions or that anyone was 'getting rid of witnesses.’

Pew! Now I'm assuaged! I had the fear there might have been a conspiracy. And there wasn't Gosh! Now I can sleep much calmer. ;)

I intentionally did not want to reveal my age on the internet until I was 18 for safety reasons. Also, I do not remember anybody being particularly mean to me except Ed Jones, but he is not active anymore. Anyway, during my 2-3 first years on this forum, I was still immature and sometimes stirred up conflict for no reason. So no need to apologize.

Maxence, Having seen, at 20 years old, Haxan and Colonel Blimp is quite impressive. When I was twenty, I had the advantage of a much older brother and a much older boyfriend, both film buffs, and I hadn't seen either of those films until several years later. It's also cool that you know the birth years of your grandmother and great-grandmother. I'm the youngest child of older parents so I didn't know any of my grandparents. You listing those films, as well, is prompting me to do some research to see if I can find out when my grandparents were born. I think only one was born in the same country as I was.
