I was trying to check in to a film (Elf), and it was way too easy to accidentally delete all previous check-ins to the film. Can they be restored?

I'm sorry but unfortunately, we are unable to recover any previously removed check-ins
On almost every title on IMDb there is a Share link in the upper right of the page, click it and a menu will appear with Check in as one of the options. If you're registered with IMDb, you can click this button and follow the appropriate prompting to submit a check-in. If you're not registered and logged in you'll be prompted to do so before you can check-in for the first time.

If you've previously checked in to the movie, however, there is no plus sign next to the Check-ins option. Instead, there's a green checkmark next to Check-ins, and if you click that line, you immediately delete all previous check-ins and can never get them back. I strongly suggest making a change here because this is an easy mistake to make.
This isn't an issue on mobile, where I've checked in to previously checked-in movies with no problem.
I see now that, on desktop, I could have gone to my actual check-ins list and added the film from there, but I didn't think of that until it was too late.
