Adding discussion threads or comment replies to IMDb reviews

Hi everyone, I’ve been an IMDb user for years and have always loved how complete and accessible it is. There’s just one thing I’ve often wished existed: a way for users to discuss movies and series directly on IMDb; to reply to reviews, debate, share interpretations, or just talk about what we’ve watched. Right now, IMDb has reviews and ratings, but not a true discussion feature. I think a comment-reply or thread system could make the experience feel much more alive. After rating something, it feels natural to keep the conversation going rather than jumping to Reddit or another site. Movies and TV inspire people to connect. Why not let that happen right here? I’d love to hear what others think about this idea. Would you use a discussion or reply system on IMDb? And for IMDb staff: if this ever gets considered, I’d be happy to help test or moderate such a feature. Thanks for reading, and for all the work that goes into keeping IMDb running.

Thanks for the suggestion NoPantsBatman! I'll pass this feedback on to the relevant team for consideration. Also, great to know you'd be open to helping test or moderate future community features. What do others think? Would you like to see discussion features like NoPantsBatman suggests? Would you be interested in helping test or moderate these type of features? Thanks, and keep the ideas coming, Mark

@NoPantsBatman Joined Mar 2014 https://www.imdb.com/user/ur51527765/ You may remember... IMDb use to have a message board for every Title & Name and other topics IMDb.com's message board system closed on February 20th, 2017. https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/boards-closure-faq/G5HU888HZYE8LF79# "What about all those discussions on smaller name/title boards? Message boards are always temporary in nature: content is not meant to be kept forever and can be removed for a number of reasons... There are some interesting discussions with content worthy of being preserved, but that content is better suited to being stored in permanent parts of IMDb (such as user reviews, FAQs, trivia, goofs to name just a few)." http://web.archive.org/web/20170220000011/http://www.imdb.com/boards/ .
