Bug - Filtering by Rated by You

When using the advanced search there is a bug that won't allow you to choose to exclude titles you have previously rated from the filters. It was working until a week or two ago. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&languages=en&my_ratings=exclude&lists=!watchlist,!ls541555264

@mrsjson Thanks for the problem report. Please can you explain further as to what you mean by it is not working? Are you seeing no results or are there titles in the results which should have been excluded? I have plenty of searches like the above which exclude my watchlist and rated titles as well as one (or more) other lists. One possible explanation, we see that the list at https://www.imdb.com/list/ls541555264 is private — are you sure that you are logged into the same IMDb account which owns this list? You can confirm this by opening the URL (if it fails to open, you are using a different account) or if you make the list public, we can test it for you.

When doing an advanced search, if I use the filter 'exclude titles I have rated' it seems to break the search function completely as it returns no titles at all. I can do multiple filter combinations of searches that work fine but if I add into the mix the particular filter of 'exclude titles I have rated' the search returns no results.

@mrsjason The filter is working fine for us, sorry. How many titles have you rated? You can see this number via https://www.imdb.com/list/ratings/ — does this number also match the number via https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?my_ratings=restrict How many results do you see from each of the following: 1. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&languages=en 2. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&languages=en&lists=!watchlist 3. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&languages=en&my_ratings=exclude 4. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&languages=en&my_ratings=exclude&lists=!watchlist Please note that there can be problems with the above searches if you have an impossibly large number of ratings. Although I have 16,500+ ratings and it still works fine for me.

@mrsjson How many titles have you rated (an approximate number is fine)? The above is a known failure mode, but only when the number of rated titles exceeds all practical limits (ie: total running times in excess of the length of a human life). It should never occur in practice.

83152 titles are in my watched list.

@mrsjson This is well beyond the supported number of ratings and the searches above will not work with these volumes, sorry. You are only supposed to rate titles you have actually seen. If you have been voting for titles which you have not seen because you want to exclude them from search results, instead you may create multiple “Not Interested in Watching” lists with 10,000 items in each list and exclude those lists from the search results. If you do this, you should be able to reduce your ratings list to those titles you have actually watched and the searches will work again.
