Change password for new account

Why on earth do we have to change our password after we create our account?

I can't imagine what possible sense that makes. It is annoying as He&&.

Thank you for letting us know! After some time of being inactive, you'll be asked to reset your password just for security purposes.

When signing in, make sure to select the correct option. If you select "Login with IMDb" you need to enter your IMDb email and password. However, if you select "Login with Amazon" you'll need to enter your Amazon account and Amazon password.

If you need to reset your IMDb password, please visit the sign-in page and select Sign in with IMDb and select Forgot your password.

Thank you for your time and effort to respond.

I'm afraid your answer does not quite address my question.  I have just joined the help community, so it is not possible that I have been inactive for any length of time at all.

Yesterday, I created a brand new account.

The first time I logged in, I saw a message that said something to the efffect that, "You must change your password when creating a new account" 

So I was forced to change the password that I had JUST created a minute before trying to log in.

Surely you can imagine why I found this baffling.


Can you look into why this might have happened to me?  Is there a glitch in the system?
