Change Top 250 Film List To Top 1000
It would be very helpful for those of us who have seen just about every film in the top 250 list to extend it to 500 or even ideally even the top 1000. Or a user-defined number. If it already exists maybe make it easier to find. Note I am not looking for a fan made top 1000 list but rather the real time rankings just like the official top 250 list.

I would like to humbly suggest that the number of titles on the TOP IMDB MOVIES should be increased from 250 to 500 so that more movies can be incorporated in the list that are left out due to the fact that the permissible limit to display the titles is very less. In addition to it, a drop-down list can be incorporated on the same page so that the user can select any particular year of his choice and look at the list of the TOP IMDB MOVIES that made up to the list that particular year.

Here is a search link for the Top 1000 films, displaying 250 films per page:

I believe I speak for a lot of IMDB users when I say this: Please make an official IMDB top 1000 movies list ranked by the same formula as the top 250 movies list! I know it is already possible to find a top 1000 list in advanced title search, however the first 250 movies on the list differentiate a lot from the ones on the official top 250 movies list. This is clearly because the "secret formula" of the official top 250 movies list is not added. Please make an official top 1000 movies list with the same ranking formula used on the top 250 movies list for every movies fan to enjoy!

When I first came across the top 250 movies in the early days of IMDb, it was a great way to enjoy new, old, and world films I had not heard about or may not have considered watching. It was a fantastic tool then as it is now, but I have found that with so many movies being released over the past couple of decades, many newer films are present (whether they should be or not) which has relegated some older titles. With many newer titles present in the top 250, these older titles are less likely to be watched so I am proposing that IMDB expand the top 240, to the top 500, or similar to account for older titles.
I know there is an advanced search, but some of these titles do not flow in the same way. Updating the top 250 to account I think would be a good move for movie enthusiasts that use it to broaden their viewing experience.
