Conversation no longer open for comments

Hi,

I've seen that some conversations are "no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members."

Why does this happen to some threads? Can it be fixed?

Here are two examples - the first thread is mine, the second by another user. Note: I can still see the replies in both threads but maybe that's because I have admin rights. But no new comments can be made.
