Dark Theme for IMDb.com
Why there is no dark theme in the website as the one on the phones app???
I use everything in dark modes and I use custom dark modes/themes for many websites because some websites still doesn't have dark themes yet !
It's mainly because my eyes can't stand the bright light of the monitor and it hurts my eyes when staring at it for just a minute !
Can we please get an official dark theme in the website options soon ?
Thanks!

They just redesigned IMDb and didn't add the dark theme......... this is very stupid !! Not sure when will they wake up..
Websites like this should ONLY be dark !! I mean even the stupid facebook now is rolling the official dark mode!

Dear IMDb Team,
As an avid user of IMDb, I truly appreciate the wealth of information and entertainment your platform provides. However, I wanted to share a suggestion that would enhance the user experience for many of us.
Dark mode has become increasingly popular across various websites and applications. It not only reduces eye strain but also provides a sleek and modern look. While I appreciate the dark mode option in the IMDb app, I find myself missing it when browsing the website on my computer.
Is there any chance of implementing an official dark theme for the IMDb website? I believe this feature would be highly appreciated by users who prefer darker interfaces, especially during late-night browsing sessions.
Thank you for considering my request. IMDb is an incredible resource, and adding a dark mode would make it even better. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I watch a movie where even a daytime scene looks good in the dark. And then I open this site and I just go blind because it's completely white. The awfulness of the movie world.

Hi, I use the Safari browser (version 18.1) on a MacBook Pro (November 2023-macOS Sonoma 14.6.1) and there is no obvious mechanism for switching IMDb.com web version from dark mode to light mode. I have eye issues and have trouble using dark mode feature. How can I switch the website version from dark to light using my specific computer/browser?

there is a dark theme, at least on the home page and list page from what I see. and it was really good to my eyes, since it took a long while when I works on my lists. but there is one serious flaw on the list page (after I login): the dark theme is gone the first time I REFRESH my list page. That is really bad for my eyes since most of time when I works on my movie lists, it was night time and also it took a long while, even hours, when I was working on my lists. can it be an option that I can enable it permanently? thank you.

I just looked up a movie, and was dismayed to see that that entire page for that listing is in dark mode, with no way to change it. I loathe dark mode, it causes immediate eyestrain and headaches for me, and anything that defaults to it usually doesn't see me hanging around long. IMDb needs to not force it on people (or light mode, to be fair; I know a large number of people enjoy prefer straining their eyes with dark mode). There really needs to be a way to override whatever's set for specific movies and shows, and force it to the user's preference.

It's baffling that users have to ask for dark mode support for IMDb website & the community website...in 2026
The dark mode that IMDb website has doesn't cover the whole pages of actors, movies & TV shows. It only covers the top & bottom part of the webpage.
The community website is full-on white btw
