Database Issue: Main title page defaults to US runtime instead of Original runtime
Hi,
I am reporting a persistent issue regarding how runtimes are displayed on the main title pages across the platform.
Currently, the IMDb system consistently prioritizes the US release runtime as the primary display on the main page, even when it differs from the original country's duration. While the correct original runtime is often listed under the "Technical Specs" section, the main page continues to show the US version as the default.
This creates a significant inconsistency, especially for users who have their display settings set to "Original Title". If the system is configured to respect the original title of a film, it should logically also prioritize its original duration.
The Problem:
The main page display often misrepresents the film's original length by forcing US-specific data.
This is misleading for global users and cinephiles who rely on IMDb for accurate, original production data.
There is currently no way to ensure the original runtime is displayed as the primary info on the main header.
This is a data-priority issue that affects the accuracy of the site's primary information. Could you please look into why the US runtime is being forced as a default over the original version, and if there are plans to fix this data-display hierarchy?
Thanks
