Exclude More Genres in Advanced Search

When doing an advanced search, the only genre that can be excluded is documentary. Every genre should have the option to exclude it so that the results will not have what the user doesn't want to see. For example, if I did a search for productions from Japan, I'm going to be overwhelmed with anime. I have nothing against anime, but I would like to be able to exclude animation so I can give better focus to Japan's live-action offerings.

Thanks for this idea! What you are searching for is currently possible via modifying the URL. Putting '!' in front of a genre will tell the search to exclude it. For example, to see productions from Japan excluding animation as you mentioned, you could try: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?genres=!animation&country_of_origin=JP Hope that helps!
