Finding people by birth place is now next to impossible

Particularly if it's a place which shares its name with multiple cities/towns around the world. I used to enjoy seeing all the movie/tv people who came from my town but it's now muddled with tons more from several towns/cities that happen to share the same name and are much bigger. (E.g. London Ontario Canada now includes London UK & any other London in the world.) What happened? IMDB please fix.
