How to disable 'popular searches' dropdown

Also please could you follow the steps in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/common-issues/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF and let us know what happens? In particular do you have any browser plug-ins or browser setting which place the keyboard focus in the search bar automatically as this is the likely cause of it appearing more frequently.
