How to disable 'popular searches' dropdown

Every page, every search, all - the - time. Is there anyway of disabling the 'popular search' drop down? It's annoying me so much that it's spoiling my time on the site. I would hazard a guess and say that I will never be searching for a title in the list offered. Any help would be appreciated.

@lee_horton_i9imf2mkjplin “Popular searches” should only appear once you click on the search bar and before you type anything. Are you seeing a different behaviour? Also please could you follow the steps in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/common-issues/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF and let us know what happens? In particular do you have any browser plug-ins or browser setting which place the keyboard focus in the search bar automatically as this is the likely cause of it appearing more frequently. Hope this helps.

I've just been playing about with the settings. I had an extension called 'clean imdb', "A cleaner look for IMDb. Full width pages without ads." - disabled it and the drop-down has now been replaced with amazon ads! So, I have 2 options as I see it. Continue with my extension and have half a page of drop-down on every click or disable it and have half a page of adverts. Would you agree?

Thanks for confirming the culprit. You might want to contact the author of the script and let them know.
