IMDb Expands Features in its What to Watch App: Thousands of entertainment
options, endless personalized recommendations

We’re excited to announce the latest release of the IMDb What to Watch app, available for free on Fire TV devices. This release introduces the below features:

  • Subscription-based recommendations: Set the streaming services you subscribe to, then the What to Watch app will show you which titles are available for free as part of your current subscription, free with ads, or available to rent or purchase.
  • Customize for what you watch: Are you obsessed with apocalyptic dramas since starting The Last of Us? Or maybe you like having a list of family friendly comedies available at your fingertips? You can create your very own personalized row for the genre and subgenre you want recommendations from, ensuring you see the best content based on your current interests. This is a feature most streaming services don’t offer. You can also import your IMDb Watchlist into the app for direct access to all of the shows and movies you’ve saved.
  • Find trending entertainment: New, curated carousels of trending titles help you easily find the most talked-about, nominated, and searched for movies and TV shows from IMDb’s collection of more than 12 million entertainment titles.

These new features and others are available starting today for customers who download the free IMDb What to Watch app from the Fire TV Appstore. Customers who sign into their IMDb account from the app will receive updates on new features and games, can sync their personal ratings and watch activity across IMDb and the IMDb What to Watch app, and more. More information about the IMDb What to Watch app on Fire TV is available at www.imdb.com/tv, or download directly to your Fire TV device through Amazon.
