languages filter shouldn't be filtering for subtitles

When ATS filters for "language", I expect it to be filtering only spoken language.  (I'd prefer that it be restricted to the primary language that's spoken for the majority of the running time and not incidental languages.)  But filtering for "English" is including subtitles for foreign titles like https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title=Beggars+and+Noblemen&languages=en

That parameter isn't working. https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title=Beggars+and+Noblemen&primary_languages=en results in a title with English subtitles.

@rootsmusic

I'm not an IMDb employee, so I have few answers.

Frankly, I don't understand where (on what "All Topics" page) the languages are visible.

When I look in the Edit page, there is indeed a listing for English subtitles.

So the search appears to be working fine.

But seeing why the search came back with this title is not obvious to me.

@bderoes It’s because the link which @rootsmusic provided is wrong, this is the correct one -> https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title=Beggars+and+Noblemen&primary_language=en  (note: primary_language=en NOT primary_languages=en)

You can tell because the heading in my link is:

Title Matching "Beggars and Noblemen", English (Sorted by Popularity Ascending)

when ATS sees a parameter which it does not support, it simply ignores it.

Hope this helps.

@Col_Needham

Silly me, the spelling of the parameter certainly matters.

Am I correct that there's nowhere but the main page to see languages?

Because this title only has one of its languages listed there, despite the dual listing of Arabic in the data (screenshot above).

@bderoes Yes, that correct for now, although it is on the list to be addressed when the title subpages are migrated to the new technology.

The title you searched for, "Iljimae" (2008), has Korean as the language, but "English subtitles" in the attribute field (although this is not displayed). I'm not sure why this is included there. Would it have English subtitles on Korean TV?

No @Peter_pbn, and I didn't contribute this title.
