Location of reviews on title pages

By the way, I just saw that the placement of Reviews has once again been changed, it's now at the bottom of the page again, why did IMDB do this? Now I once again have to scroll for the reviews.

@Navin2000 Thanks for the feedback. The reviews were subject to an experiment where we were testing three different placements. The experiment has now completed and we are analysing the results, at which point we will launch the version which performed best with our customers (or keep the present version). You can read more about experiments at IMDb in this reply on a different site feature -> https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/make-the-photos-link-on-nametitle-pages-open-the-gallery-view-by-default/67d216c596face300dddc896?commentId=67d21805999f0c25397f0b80&replyId=67e3fa9d4fef915587afa81f Hope this helps.

@Col_Needham OK thanks for the information. Like I said, it makes the most sense to me to place important information on top, like reviews, release date and countries of origin. Why make people scroll for this?

@Navin2000 Different IMDb customers have different needs and use cases, so we are trying to optimise for the most general cases across over 200 milliin people. This is why we generally do these types of experiments and/or extensive testing when changing things. While you may prefer certain content to be higher, this may not always be the most common case. For example, here's a thread from last week related to the review experiments requesting the option to hide reviews entirely: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/provide-an-option-to-hide-user-reviews/680b97044a5b842b275022e8 Hope this helps.

@Col_Needham Sorry, must have missed your post. But hiding reviews doesn't make any sense to me. And I just saw that the design has been changed, reviews are on top, very cool, but now you can't actually fully read the main (or featured) review, you have to click on it first, what's up with this? I'm sorry to say, but this is yet another weird design choice.

On or about May 14, 2025, the user review section formatting changed - for the worse. I can see only 4 or 5 reviews, and I have to resort to repeated use of the ">" key to see more than the ONE that initially appears. I used to be able to see dozens, even hundreds of reviews. Why change something that was working well ? Why limit the number of reviews available. This recent change is not an improvement at all. Please put this feature back to the prior arrangement. I can't be the only user who isn't pleased with the unsolicited gratuitous change. @ paul_kollar I can still see all reviews, when clicking on the ''User reviews'' button, like in the past. But my complaint is about not being able to fully see the featured review, I always read this. So to me the ''Featured reviews'' are of no use for me at the moment.

@ paul_kollar Wait a minute, I now see what you mean. So when you click on any of the ''Featured reviews'', it will only show that single review, and you can't see the other reviews. This is definitely a design error, in my view.

Thank you for your feedback about the recent changes to how reviews are displayed. We're currently running iterative experiments to improve the review experience, and your feedback helps inform ongoing improvements. While you're now seeing up to 5 featured reviews on the main page, you can still access all reviews by clicking the "User Reviews" header above the reviews section. This will take you to the reviews subpage displaying all reviews for a title where you can browse through all reviews for a title, just as you did before. As for individual reviews, clicking anywhere on a review card takes you to that specific review (previously, this was limited to just the hyperlinked review title). Please continue sharing your experience - it helps us make IMDb better for everyone.

@ Jack Perhaps it's possible to make it so that when you click on any of the featured reviews, all text will become visible, or that it will automatically open a new tab. Now I will have to open it in a background tab. Of course opening in a background tab should remain possible. Another option is to always make at least one featured review fully visible like in the old design. And this can be on top of the other featured reviews. Only this would actually solve my problem, now that I think of it.

@Navin2000 Thank you for the suggestions, we're actively looking at improvements to the Featured Review widget on title main as well as how it ingresses to the subsequent page. Stay tuned.

Sometimes the headline of a review is so long that it isn't fully displayed in the "featured reviews" snippets I am seeing.
