Number Bug Back in Lists!

Today I tried manually changing the position of an entry on my list, only for an error to tell me the change didn't go through. I tried changing it several times to no avail. Eventually the item did move, only for it completely screw up the numbering- I tried to make the item number 1545. Instead the item was placed at 1544, right after ANOTHER 1544, and the numbering for the rest of the entries was screwed up. This is the second time this month this has happened, and while I work around it by simply copying all the pages to another list, it's still very frustrating. It's especially annoying because I remember being told one of the advantages the updates to the list pages would bring that this would no longer be a problem. While I have had many complaints about the new system (as have most users), I have avoided running into this bug again until very recently. As avoiding this bug was one of the few legitimate advantages the update brought, its return is most unwecolme. I'm not sure if there's a permanent fix to this (this bug was the bane of users' existence for years), but I just thought I'd bring it up in the hopes that something might be done with it, especially with the update.
