Rating for actors

Is it possible to rate actors/actresses/directors? It would be an interesting option. ( I didn't find this option, maybe it exists and I couldn't see it?) Thank you.

No, and most likely it would be too controversial to implement such a feature on IMDb, since some people's self-esteem would be diminished by low ratings assigned to them, rightfully or wrongfully.

My question to IMDB is could you please add a feature where you are able to rate an actor's performance in a specific tv show or movie out of 10, just like rating the movies or tv shows themselves. This would give the general population ideas of performances to look out for and also would give incentive to people watching the film or tv show. Please consider this. I can't seem to find any website that does this. Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled Rating system for actors' performances.

This idea might sound good for the people who would get high ratings, but inevitably other people would get low ratings and they'd be very unhappy with IMDb because of that.

But why does this sort of thing not exist elsewhere, like add it to letterboxd an actors section or something, it's a talking point. And, people who produced a film might not like what someone's rated their film but that's just what happens.

HI, I NOTICE HOW QUICKLY YOUR SITE IS UPDATED. I OFTEN MEET SITES ON WHICH YOU CAN RATE NOT THE FILM, BUT THE ACTOR HIMSELF. I HOPE IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE MY ASSESSMENT TO THE ACTOR Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled ACTORS
