Subject: Innovation Proposal: A "Vertical Feed" for Movie Trailers (User Experience Improvement)
Dear IMDb Team,
I am writing to you as a devoted cinema fan who has, unfortunately, struggled to enjoy movies over the last five years. I wanted to share an idea that I believe could revolutionize how millions of users interact with your platform.
Currently, the process of finding a movie is somewhat "clunky." Searching by title, clicking, and manually starting trailers is time-consuming and often leads to "decision fatigue." In fact, I have personally stopped watching movies altogether because the effort of finding something I like often outweighs the joy of watching it.
The Proposal: I suggest implementing a TikTok-style vertical scroll feed within the IMDb app. Imagine an "Infinity Feed" where high-quality trailers (or curated 30-second highlights) start playing automatically as you swipe.
Swipe Up: Next trailer.
Double Tap: Add to Watchlist.
Swipe short-form" approach to discovery would remove the friction of manual searching and bring the excitement back to cinema. It would allow users to "feel" the atmosphere of a movie instantly.
A personal note: I haven’t watched a full movie in years because the current search process exhausts me. I truly believe that an innovation like this would not only bring fans like me back to the screen but would make IMDb the ultimate destination for the new generation of viewers.
If this idea resonates with your vision, I would be beyond grateful. It would literally change the way I (and many others) spend my evenings.
Thank you for your time and for everything you do for the world of cinema.
Best regards,
Hristo Nedelchev From: Bulgaria
