Title: Feature Request: Add Season-Level Rating System for TV Shows
Currently, IMDb only allows users to rate an entire TV series as a whole or rate individual episodes. This creates an issue for multi-season shows where quality fluctuates drastically between seasons. For example, if Season 1 deserves an 8/10 but Season 2 drops to a 5/10, users are forced to lower their overall show rating to a 6/10. This obscures how strong the earlier season was and distorts the overall metric. While episode ratings exist, rating dozens of individual episodes just to reflect a poor season is impractical.
Proposed Solution:
- Season-Level Ratings: Allow users to give a rating (1–10) to an entire season directly from the season page.
- Auto-Aggregated Show Score (Optional): Give users the option to have their overall series rating automatically calculated as an average of their individual season ratings.
- Visual Breakdown: Display an aggregated average rating per season on the main title page alongside the overall series score.
Why It Helps:
- Better Data Accuracy: Provides a much clearer picture of a show’s trajectory (e.g., strong start, weak middle, great recovery).
- Improved User Experience: Allows users to rate TV content accurately without needing to rate every single episode individually.
- Increased Engagement: Encourages users to revisit show pages and update their ratings as new seasons air.
