Title pages hogging! Is the new rating model perhaps the bad guy??

There seems to be something really wrong when loading the title pages that sucks the juice out of Google Chrome, MS Edge and similar browsers. Functions like Ratings and the Add-to-the-watch-list-plus-sign ("+") takes forever to appear, usually approx 30-40 seconds. Using just a few imdb titles pages makes the machine hog.

Any ideas what's happening?

Still utterly dislike the fatty design. I usually get used to changes after a while, but not this time!

Well, troubleshooting starts with disabling ad blockers and others extensions. Might also be a good idea not to have the web console window open for the particular web browser tab in which the title page is going to be loaded.

Curious. What operating system is being used? What are the capacity and average utilization of the memory? How many USB peripherals are attached? How many GUI applications are running? How many services are running in the background? How many tabs or windows are open in the browser?

Anyway, I have the same problem, most of the time, with both title pages and name pages, for the parts that are on IMDb's new software platform. Every single time I reload a page or navigate to a new one, the CPU and RAM utilization jumps way up for a minute or two, and everything in the system slows down. This is on Windows 7, an operating system no longer supported by its creator. I don't observe anywhere near as severe of a problem on the smartphone running Android 12, but definitely there seems to be a lot for Chrome to unpack upon every page visit, thus it is still slightly slow.

Title and name pages are slower than ever.

I'm using IMDb only on my brand new phone lately, but much less since i loathe new color change display (which certainly slow down the pages). On every other slightly older device, everything is painfully slow.

I've now tested using Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on both macOS and Windows (without extensions). Firefox and Safari seem to be slightly faster but that could just as well be due to the point of time when I performed the tests. Automated regresion tests are required to come up with reliable results and I don't have time for that.

However, it is easy to see that the Title pages have become really fat without any direct optimizations and are essentially very demanding for all types of web browsers. Analyze runtime performance using Chrome page profiling your self to get a hint. The "Rating" and "Watchlist" indicators still fluctuates between approx 15-40s

Bottom line, the IMDb Title pages are extremly fatty and need plenty of optimization, and probably the database as well which is likley the root cause of the poor performance of the "Rating" and "Add to Watchlist" indicators.
