Can someone please explain how does it work?

But none of them has a release date

@ugnieska

For example this producer https://imdb.com/name/nm4977011/
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21051904/ these series upcoming second season first episode is shown in upcoming section

This is because he only has one credit on this show and the episode has no release date and no production status, so it is assumed to be upcoming.  If episode 2.1 has been released then adding a release date in the past or a production status of Released will move it to the Previous section.

But these https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28236082/ series upcoming second season first episode is shown in released section

He worked on 9 episodes here, 8 of which have release dates in the past and production statuses of released. The only other episode has no release date and no production status, so it is assumed to be in the past.  If episode 2.1 is indeed upcoming then either adding a future release date or a production status other than Released will move it into the Upcoming section.

The thought here is that we always try to fail-safe in the absence of specific dates and production statuses on episodes since they are not always present.

Hope this helps.

But for example i added his credit for 3 other upcoming shows that has second season in the works
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21426704/
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23857504/
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27907967/
And all of them appears on upcoming section
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28236082/
But for this doesn't, even everything is the same
He has credits now for all 4 titles on both seasons

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15201286/
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21441408/
All of them has only release date for the first episode, everything is the same

@ugnieska If anything is in the wrong section, please add a release date and/or the appropriate production status to the specific episode and it should move.  Note that if any of the examples above are super-recent changes, it can take up to 24 hours for the episode to move to the correct section.
