Updating “Role” dropdown in Crew Listing on IMDB

Greetings,

How does one go about getting crew positions added to or updated in IMDb’s credit menu?

When adding yourself to a show credit on IMDb, there is a drop-down menu labeled “Role.” How can new positions be added to that menu?

I am a member of IATSE Local 728, Hollywood Lighting Local. I have been a member for 31 years and have worked in lighting for 39 years.

In 2006, I was hired to establish and head a new department focused on the emerging field of low-voltage LED lighting. The position is now commonly referred to as an LED Scenic Lighting Technician. This work involves designing, installing, and controlling scenic LED lighting elements, as well as, in some cases, lighting performers or other on-camera subjects.

LED lighting can now be seen in the vast majority of productions, including motion pictures, television series, competition shows, game shows, podcasts, and streaming productions.

Currently there are couple of IMDb credits, in my name, including one as an LED Best Boy, which is among the earliest credits of this kind that I am aware of. For many years, I have designed, installed, and controlled LED lighting elements for all forms of visual media.

Two roles that have become increasingly common in recent years are:

• LED Scenic Lighting Technician
• LED Scenic Lighting Designer

These roles refer specifically to LED lighting and should not be confused with LED video or video-wall work.
