Watchlist order

When I order my extensive watchlist (over 3,000 films) as 'Alphabetical', it simply does not work, there is no ABC order at all, the list is all muddled up with different title first letters occurring one after the other.

I need a proper alphabetical order which I can copy in order to check films I have and print accurate lists of each first letter film group eg films whose titles begin with 'The', but it's impossible.

Why on earth is this--owned by one of the biggest online players, Amazon, and you can't get your facility to order watchlists alphabetically to work?

@jim_bloggs Sorry about that.  The watchlist feature is running on the oldest software still in operation at IMDb and it is scheduled to be replaced in the near future.  The sort order is alphabetical, however, it is alphabetical by the original title vs. your local language preference.  If there are titles out of order this likely explains the issue.

Once the lists are on the new software, we will be in a better position to be able to sort alphabetically by local title at a later date. We will convert this post into an Idea thread to track the request.

Thank you Col for the clear explanation, I shall now be patient and look forward to the new version arriving!

I was going to add another point, namely that the download text names file of my Watchlist contained only 599 entries whereas the list comprises 3,900+! But again, I trust this will be corrected in the revised version.

Many thanks again for your much appreciated response.

With kind regards
