Watchlist refine method change

When I check my watchlist and "refine" it to pick something, the way it/UI works is annoying. Checkboxes are used to make choices, but they act like "radios" since the page is refreshed right after a choice (click/check) is made. When the page is loaded, every other option is hidden too. This makes no sense. One should be able to make multiple choices there.

It has been this way for a quite while now. I hope it gets improved.

@akinuri  Thanks for the feedback.  The lists system is one of the oldest parts of the IMDb software still running and it is scheduled to move to our new technology platform soon.

In the meantime using the "Your Watchlist" filter with Advanced Title Search already provides much more flexible sorting / filtering options.  Start at https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?lists=watchlist and change the filters on the left and the sort orders at the top.

Hope this helps.

@akinuri BTW we have not made any changes to the Watchlist software at https://www.imdb.com/list/watchlist in 10+ years (which is part of the reason it needs to be updated) so the issues are not due to a recent change.

@Col_Needham Oh. I remember using that page before, but the UI seems new. I guess it's been a while. The page seems sophisticated enough. It'll do :)

Also, I took a quick look around and couldn't see a link to or mention of the "Advanced title search" page anywhere. How does one get there normally?

@akinuri Adanced Title Seach can be reached via the menu immediately to the left of the search box at the top of every IMDb page as explained on https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/discover-watch/using-the-advanced-search-feature/GLUEUYWPQNPTEVPU

You can usually find answers to most questions on using IMDb directly at https://help.imdb.com/

Hope this helps.

While the advanced search solves the initial problem, I appreciate the change in lists too. I see that now I can use multiple criteria (e.g. title type).

However, the change is applied immediately. It's likely that people will use multiple criteria to filter the lists. Having the change apply immediately seems redundant. There could be some delay (like a 1s bounce) before the change is applied, so that one can pick multiple criteria before the change is applied.

I also took a look at the comments in the "List-Like Pages Beta" page, and I must say that I agree with some of them. Infinite scroll or auto load on scroll is annoying. It's kind of convenient for social media sites, because there's no page there. The timeline is updated in real-time. So a scroll loads more. But in lists, things are defined/fixed. There should be paging.

Most of the things people mentioned seems like bugs, so I believe they'll be fixed, but this paging issue looks like an intentional design decision. I hope it doesn't stay. At least there should be an option to change it.
