@laliendre87 Thanks, however, you will need to be much more precise — over on https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt2096673/ there are hundreds of data points.  Which days/weekends/weeks/totals are wrong and in which countries?  What is the correct information and what sources do you have for the corrections?

Col: I don't know if this is what Laliendre was thinking of, but I also see a problem for Inside Out 2.

At https://www.boxofficemojo.com/year/2024/?grossesOption=calendarGrosses there is a listing of the top domestic grosses in 2024 for all films (whether or not released in 2024). However, the "total gross" for Inside Out 2 is shown as exactly $100 million less than the "gross":

The "gross" and "total gross" for this film, as well as all other 2024 releases on this chart, should be exactly the same amount. And the gross of $355 million is the correct amount -- Variety's article at https://variety.com/2024/film/box-office/inside-out-2-box-office-record-second-weekend-1236045165/ indicates that as the film's domestic gross through this weekend.

The only films for which those amounts should be different are 2023 releases which continued to play into 2024 (example: #13, Migration) -- and for those films, the "total gross" should be the higher amount and the "gross" should be only the amount earned by the film since January 1, 2024.

Hi @gromit82 -

I just reviewed the 2024 Domestic Box Office data and it appears to have been fixed:

Let us know if you are still observing any discrepancies!

@gromit82 To be clear, this has not been fixed in the way you might think :-)

The error you reported on the 2024 chart happens every Sunday and is always resolved by Monday.  The issue is that while we update individual titles with weekend estimated grosses on a Sunday, the yearly (and other) charts are only updated when the actual grosses are released on Monday.  It is more noticeable when, as in the case of Inside Out 2 (2024), there’s a hit movie high in a chart which has acquired a large estimated gross over the weekend and you happen to be looking on a Sunday.

Hope this helps.
