Cheaper IMDb pro for schools?
I can no longer afford to my IMDb pro membership as a teacher and unfortunately schools here in the UK are being squeezed tighter and tighter - how about a cheaper membership scale for educational institutions? I teach Film Studies at a girls' school and try encourage them to think of careers as technicians as well as actors. Thoughts?

If you have film credits than your name page will remain on IMDB for free.
I suppose I'm just curious what purpose you have for even needing a pro membership. Any (non pro) account can do page edits for data entry and updating.

As far as I know, the only information you can not see on the base system that is available on Pro is :
1) Titles in Development
2) Company Details (e.g. Branch information and Staff)
3) Contact Information for People and Companies
4) Certain Message Boards and areas like Casting that are not part of the primary database.
In fact, in their last revision IMDb removed a significant amount of data from the Pro side that is still on the base side.
If you look at, for example, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) and scroll down the page you will see the
Technical Specs section. Just under this section is the text link: See full technical specs » Click on that and you are taken to the Technical Specifications page. The data is in a different sequence than the Pro Tech Specs page, but has all the same data -- and also includes Runtime which is not on the Pro page.
The Box office / business page appears to have most of the same data as the Pro page, but it is not in as readable a format. You (or your students) might want to copy the data and massage it so it can be loaded into a database or spreadsheet in order to study it. This is a case where the Pro version is better, but you can at least get access to the data using the base system. This page can be reached by clicking on See more » under the data in the Box Office section of the Main Title page
The Release Dates page is virtually the same as the Pro version. It can be reached by clicking on the Release data at the top of the Main Title page, or by clicking on the See more » link beside the Release date in the Details section
All these links can be found in the Quick Links menu on the right side of the Main Title page, although you may need to click on Explore More to see the ones you want. The subsidiary pages will have a Quick Links menu at the right side (though it may not be titled) or an equivalent menu on the left.
From your post above, I believe the only down side of not using Pro will be the less readable format of the Box Office data, and as I mentioned you may be able to mitigate that.
P.S. One advantage of the basic account is that you can set it to show either UK or original titles, while Pro insists on only showing the US titles. For example the title I chose shows correctly on the base system but as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) in Pro.
