Good point. It depends if people who are now in ImdPro, are there just to put "one single picture in one single page", or because they want also the other features that ImdbPro allows. 
In my opinion, anyone who pays $ 149 is interested in all or most of  the features. I doubt anyone decides to spend that much if they're just interested in putting up a photo. However, there is a registration fee that would bring a number of new members such as to stem the possible passage of some from the current Pro, to the "Pro light". After all, each platform has different subscription options, because differentiating prices and services, differentiating between "basic" and "premium", is in fact a winning strategy. Why does Imdb only have the choice between "all or nothing"?

Well, that is the thing. In my post, I was also trying to hint at the notion that the company is quite possibly plainly taking advantage of people who are only interested in uploading and assigning a preferred primary image to override the placeholder image, on the respective name pages about them. (That sounds disparaging, like an insinuation of moral hazard and perverse incentive, I know, but maybe, just maybe, it is the situation at hand, most plausible simply due to human/business nature.) I wish we, as people other than IMDb site authorities, had sufficient information to perform a reliable cost-benefit analysis of the proposed plan.

I'm wondering if the company could in lieu get away with, so to speak, offering a plan that costs a one-time fee of, say, 1,799.99 USD per name page having at least one heavily-verified credit, and allows a headshot to be uploaded and assigned, which will stay there in perpetuity, while being changeable only once every year. There is a kind of psychology to it that may make sense. As a further stipulation, there would be a guarantee that at least 90% of the fee shall be reimbursed in the unlikely event of the company going bust. (That part, unfortunately can only apply in cases where insolvency, of the company alone among the companies of the world, can be forecast. In other words, the guarantee would likely fail in a general economic depression or the end of civilization.)

At this point, a solution comes to mind that perhaps could really interest the company: with the first fee of 149 € you buy all the Pro features for one year, but also the right to be able to keep your photo by paying a reduced renewal (Example: $ 24 per year, or as much as the company deems appropriate). So, if you want to renew all the Pro functions in the following years, you pay the full subscription; but if, in the following years, you are interested in keeping only your photo visible, pay the "keep your photo" subscription.

If, one day, you want to replace your photo with a new one, you have to renew a Pro membership for a new year though.

So, in summary:

- first Pro subscription: full price;

- subsequent years: reduced price if you just want your photo to remain visible;

- if you want to change your photo: again you have to do a full one year Pro subscription;

- and so on.
