Why are we being asked to up with IMDB Pro with an Amazon account? Is this the only way to sign up?

Hi - I was hoping through this forum I could talk IMDB into offering free PRO accounts to those of us who teach film. When I try to browse my film videos through IMDb Pro, there is a sorting option called "View By: Expiring Soonest". What's that? Do videos expire? That would be the most unfortunate since I have been working day and night for two weeks now to upload over a hundred videos to my films.
